Dan, Barb and Family,
We were devastated to hear the news about Lee this week and saddened that we were not able to join with you to celebrate his life on Friday. These are the times when the distance between our families feels even greater.
While Lee was in the 'younger cousin' set for me, he and I had spoken about music as he was coming of age and I could tell he had a gift for performing and writing. I was honored that he would choose to include me in this important part of his life. You should be very proud of all he was able to accomplish in his time with us.
Know that you are in our thoughts and that although he will be missed, Lee will always remembered for the wonderful things he has done and the amazing person he was.

Leo was in my current PE 1038 Beginning Tennis class at the U of M. With his Beatles t-shirt on, he would always be on time at 8AM to hear me lecture, then go out and try to do what I instructed. He was always polite, tried hard. This morning I finally told his classmates about our loss, and they are grieving as a class. He will be missed. In the short time I knew Lee, I could tell he was a fine person, and well-raised. My grief is yours, Inst John Sanny - U of Minnesota

So, so sorry to hear of your loss. I did not know him but nonetheless he was a relative of mine and no one deserves to leave this earth that way.
My heart aches for your family. God be with you.
October 21, 2010
This is U of M Instructor John Sanny who teaches the PE 1038 Beginning Tennis course that Leo was currently taking. Leo was on time for class every Tuesday and Thursday at 8AM. He always wore his Beatles t-shirt and I commented on it often. Leo was kind, and listened well, and we all enjoyed his presence in class. I told his classmates today about our loss, and they are all grieving. He was fun to have around. I share your sadness today, and I am grateful that I knew him for a few short months twice a week. Thankyou for a great job in raising him. Sincerely, John Sanny

I was very sorry and sad to hear about Lee. He was one of the nicest people with one of the biggest hearts. I was lucky to have known him and was able march the other tenor drum along side him for two summers. We had a lot of fun and created a lot of memories in marching band. I was two years older than lee, but he taught me so much about percussion and just about being a good person. My thoughts and prayers go out to lee's family. The world has truly lost a great person, but heaven has gained another angel. I am proud to have known Lee and will always be thinking of him. Lee will truly be missed.
