Dennis P. Jurek, age 75, of Gilman, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman. The Rev. Aaron Kuhn will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 Sunday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the Foley Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.
Dennis Jurek was born February 25, 1936 in Alberta Township, Benton Co. to Henry and Clara (Tadych) Jurek Sr. He married Rose Ann Kipka on May 20, 1958 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The couple lived and farmed near Gilman for most of their lives. Dennis worked for the state highway department and Franklin Manufacturing for over 35 years until his retirement. He was a life Union member. Dennis was a loving person who could always make a person smile. He enjoyed cutting his lawn, collecting aluminum cans, playing cards and listening to the radio. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a life long member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Rose Ann, Gilman, daughter, Pat (Ken) Studanski, Foley, grandchildren, Jay (Melissa), Amy (Mitchell) and great grandchild, Kyle, brothers and sisters, Adrian, Doris Robak, Gordan, Janice Lachinski, Henry Jr and Hilary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ruben and nephew, Christopher Jurek and niece, Shannon Jurek.
