Patricia Jane JOHNSON Patricia Jane Johnson of Bellevue passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue. She celebrated 80 years of life. Patricia was born January 9, 1930 in Seattle, Washington to Thomas and Madaline O'Connell. She was raised in Seattle where she graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1948. Following high school Patricia furthered her education at Everett Junior College and later the University of Washington. On February 2, 1952 she married James Albert Johnson, Jr. in San Antonio, Texas. In 1955 they moved to the Phinney Ridge neighborhood of Seattle and in 1962 they settled in Bellevue. Patricia worked as a bookkeeper for several companies, most notably, Sears and Pay n' Save. In her leisure time Patricia enjoyed reading, sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In her younger years Patricia was an adventurist. She and her husband loved to camp, hike and climb in forest areas without established trails. In their journeys she and James have climbed waterfalls and spent days in the woods; they just loved being together. Family was so important to Patricia, she made a great effort to create times of family togetherness. In one instance, Patricia drove from Seattle to New York with her four young girls to see her husband, just so the entire family could be together. Patricia is remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who possessed a determined nature, an altruistic spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. She is deeply missed. Survivors include her dedicated husband, James Albert Johnson of Bellevue; children, Laura Macri of Bellingham, Jennifer S. Johnson of Issaquah, Heidi LaJune of Kent and Kate Younglove of Mountlake Terrace; brother, Thomas O'Connell of Maple Valley; five grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.
