Olga MADSEN Obituary

Olga Signe (Larsen) MADSEN

Age 97, of Shoreline, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2013. Olga was born July 8, 1915 to Christen and Julia Larsen in Minneapolis, MN, later moving to Denver then Seattle. Olga graduated from Ballard High School and the University of Washington. She married Arnold Madsen in 1944 and joined him at Ft Ord, CA. After WWII, they returned to Seattle to raise their family. Olga was a kind, gracious lady with a deep love for her family. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be dearly missed. Proud of her Norwegian heritage, she was a wonderful cook, seamstress and gardener. Olga and Arnie enjoyed golf and travel together, making several trips to Europe, including one to visit her Norwegian relatives. Preceded in death by her brother, Lester and husband of 62 years, Arnie, Olga is survived by her children: Julie Creighton (Mike) and Bruce Madsen (fiance;e, Beth Lopez); grandchildren: Kim Cushing (Scott) and Jeff Creighton (Jessica) and great-grandson, Toby Cushing. The family wishes to thank her wonderful Crista and Home Instead Care Givers for their gentle, loving care of Olga. Memorials in her honor may be made to the Northwest Parkinson's Foundation or favorite charity.

A private family service is planned. Arrangements entrusted to Wiggen & Sons Funeral Home.
