What memories remain to me of Harold Thornquist come from having been friends during high school and college and beyond with Harold's daughter Karen. Happily for me Karen and some of her close friends embraced me into their circle, from which I enjoyed Harold and Charlotte's acquaintance, their warmth and hospitality. We talked and laughed a lot, good kids, active in school, with Harold in evidence indulgently smiling at our antics. Seemed a loving dad, steady hard working father who with Charlotte maintained an enduring good will, love and active connection with his daughter and the family she made in her adulthood. So sorry to have missed the memorial while attending to medical matters in my family. May memories of happy family together times be uplifting to his surviving loved ones.

In my high school and college years, as a good friend of Harold's daughter Karen, I had many opportunities to visit the Thornquist home. Harold was always welcoming, quick to smile and engage in conversation. There are lots of happy memories of Harold and Charlotte giving us free reign for girls' overnighters, with laughter into the wee hours. I am sure they didn't get much sleep on those nights! My sincere sympathy goes out to the whole family at this time.
