Although I never had Fr. Carroll as a teacher at Seattle University, I had the privilege of knowing him through the English department. He was a kind, funny, caring person who never hesitated to joke about what I was doing and he always made me laugh. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. His gentle soul truly made this world a better place.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Father Carroll at Mt Saint Vincent. He was a comfort to me when I was visiting his room mate, my husband Bob. I feel very blessed to have met him.

Father Carroll was above all a very kind man. In the sixties, when he was Principal at Seattle Prep, I had four boys there at one time. I got to know him well. I know he is resting in Peace. Jackie Quinn

To the Carroll family and the Jesuit Community. Fr. Carroll was an inspiration a calming force in the kind of turbulent years at Prep 70 -73, He always seemed to have a calming effect on people. I had the opportunity to know him at Prep but also to take classes from him at Seattle U. He was truly a man of faith. He was also there at Prep when some major decisions had to be dealt with and the direction the school would take and I think by his direction the school is in a better place. He will be missed by many included the hundreds of young men who walked thru the doors of Prep while he was there and the hundreds of students who took his classes at Seattle University. My thoughts are with the family and Jesuit Community on the loss of your fellow Jesuit brother.

Thank you, Fr. Carroll, for welcoming my family into St. Cecilia's when we arrived. You have blessed my son with First Communion. May you have eternal peace.
