EBBA COLEMAN Obituary

Ebba COLEMAN Ebba passed away 3/6/2011 in Kent at the age of 100. She was born 4/10/1910 in a Seattle midwife's home to immigrant parents Pete and Alice Mortenson. She chose the traditional Swedish spelling of her maiden name as Martinson. She was an eager student, graduating at age 16 from Franklin High School and soon was working for a newly appointed Federal Court Judge Bowen as secretary and clerk. She resigned from that position after her marriage to Bill (George William Coleman) produced son Walter. She returned to work as an income tax preparer working in Columbia City area and later worked for Port of Seattle expediting imported goods throughout the country. After her retirement she got a part time job bookkeeping for a Columbia City escrow business. She was a member of Mount Baker Park Presbyterian Church, donating countless hours to teaching and church projects. She was well known for her keen mind, integrity, baking, needlework, and love of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill and son Walter. She is survived by her daughter Caroline and countless nieces and nephews. Memorial service at Columbia Funeral Home; 4567 Rainier Ave So, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to her church, Weatherly Inn at Lake Meridian employees fund, or Union Gospel Mission.

70 years is our life time. 80 years with special mightiness.( Psalm 90:10) Ebba was blessed with 100 years of special mightiness. May your hears be filled with wonderful memories as you celebrate a life well-lived.
