Alice Prout Obituary

Alice Elizabeth (Betty) PROUT Alice Elizabeth (Betty) Prout, born September 9, 1927 in Polk, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep early in the morning after Thanksgiving, November 26, 2010. After growing up in a family of ten farm children, attending business college and working in Ohio, Betty met and married her beloved husband, Russell in 1948. Betty was a remarkable wife and mother, raising four children while juggling all the responsibilities of being a Navy wife. Mom was full of fun and a constant source of humor to her family. Betty's life centered around her family; she is survived by her four children; Bruce Prout and his wife Mary Ann of Bainbridge Island, Steven Prout and his wife Louise of Prescott, AZ, Nancy Prout from Maple Valley, and Park Lagerberg and her husband Eric, currently living in Beijing, China. Betty is also survived by her grandchildren David, Ben, Jesse, Joshua, Greta and Ivy and great grandchildren Sydney, Tyler, Reilly, Audrey, Henry and Nathan. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Prout in July of 2008. We miss you so, Mom... and we love you - '...a bushel, and a peck, and a hug around the neck...'
