Ann Abbott Obituary

Ann Caroline ABBOTT Ann Caroline Abbott, of Kirkland, died Thursday April 7, 2011 at the age of 92. Ann was born July 26, 1918 in Billings, MT, the daughter of Martin and Marie Tjeltveit. By 1920, the family moved to Everett, WA where Ann was raised and graduated from Everett High School in 1936. She was married to Noble (Bud) Abbott for 45 years where they lived in their home in the North Beach neighborhood of Seattle. Ann moved to Woodinville in 2002 and then to Kirkland in 2008. Ann worked for most of her life in civil service. She started her career with the US Army at Fort Lawton (Seattle) and later worked for the United States Coast Guard (Seattle) as lead supervisor in the data processing department from 1968 until her retirement in 1984. For approximately 45 years, Ann was also a volunteer in Seattle Children's Hospital Guild Association. Her favorite activity was boating the waters of Puget Sound and the Canadian San Juan gulf islands with her family and her boating friends. She and her husband were members of the Outboard Club and then the Tyee Yacht Club in Seattle. Ann was an accomplished cook and loved to entertain. She had an infectious laugh and was a loving mother and grandmother, a devoted wife and a loyal friend. She is survived by her son Greg Abbott (Marsha Abbott) of Redmond and granddaughter Lonnie Abbott of Kirkland. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Molly Ann Abbott Case in 2009. Memorial services to be held April 12, 2011 at 3PM at Flintoft's Issaquah Funeral Home. Online guest book is also available at WWW.FLINTOFTS.COM.
