I apologize for how late my condolences are. I just heard about Carl's passing. I taught with Carl for three years at Roxhill. He made our years there so much fun. He was wonderful with all of the students. As a teacher he touched many lives, both student and staff. He will be very missed.

I worked with Carl his first few years at Roxhill. I hadn't seen him in years but always asked about him when I ran into other Roxhill teachers and kept hoping I'd run into him. He was a great teacher with an incredible calmness. When I think of Carl, I see his smile and hear his laugh. I also think of how much his family meant to him. My thoughts are with you all.

I met Carl 20 years ago when I first moved to Seattle. I remember how taken I was by his gentleness as a father. We were on Bainbridge with the whole extended family and Carl was outdoors helping one of his young daughters and he was so present with her, so tender and playful. I was struck by this beautiful man's tender soul. My prayers and love go to all of you as you struggle to move into and through this loss. I am sure Carl is very, very near....love and prayers, Ellen Boyle

Carl will be sorely missed by all who were touched by his wonderful spirit, sense of humor and kindness. In the short time they were in Quito, he and Lydia made many friends and truly became a part of our family. Our deepest sympathy go to his family at this time.

We had not seen Carl for several years though often thought about how we admired him for pursuing his passion of teaching. I will always remember Carl in his bow ties & red/blue plaid slacks that he wore often when we worked together at Seattle Trust in the late 70's. He was dating Lydia then; the love of his life. He was very special and will never be forgotten. We send our sincere condolences to Lydia, his girls and entire family.
