To the family, I express my deepest condolences. I wished I could say something more then I am sorry, but words just can not say enough for our heros.

August 9, 2010

My name is Priscilla C. Taylor, a friend of BeBe Jackson. I am regretful I was unable to be among the crowd of people giving their last respects today. I was needed at home. Prayers, condolances and sympathy to the entire family for the terriable loss and sorrow felt by one and all. From the video of memories through pictures it is plain to see he was a devoted father and husband. Please know you are not alone in your grieving. BeBe called to tell me he was missing and the next think I heard her say as I answered the phone was, "they killed our boy". I was overwhelmed with sadness and shock. We hear about young men who loose their lives on the battle field every day on the news, but this truly drove it home, the reality of the atrosities of war by hearing the words coming out of the mouth of a most charished and dearly loved friend such as BeBe Jackson. God rest his soul. Thank you young man for the greatest sacrafice that one can make, so that we may remain the land of the free and brave. You will be missed by many I am sure, and may God's grace be with your loved ones - - good bye

May both of our beloved family members rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Newlove family.

August 8, 2010

What a great,loving,and fun loving person to have had the honor to know, work, and be around. Always had a smile to his face. When i was stationed with him, he used to always pick on me and my husband about being Bronco fans and how his Seahawks were always better. I always got a remark about being a Bronco fan. I also remember late at night when i was on watch he would always give me snacks for my watch. He always wanted to put a smile on someones face. Such a tragedy to lose such a good warm hearted person. My deepest condolences go out to Newlove's family. Especially his two beautiful children. Rest in peace Newlove..as i have said before..you were a great Father, Friend, Husband, Brother, Son, and Shipmate...you will never be forgotten for the person you were..and what you did for our country. We will all miss you very much. God Bless.

Jarod,
Words cannot even begin to describe the way I felt when I heard... You were always such a good person, wanting to do right by everybody, all at the same time making those around you laugh and smile. We had many good times, drinking and having a good time. You were there for Tim and I during our hard times even the times we got into a little bit of trouble, ie bowling alley in Chula Vista. I will miss you dearly and forever keep you in my heart. You were my friend but now you are also my hero. Rest in peace J-Love.

Jarod was a very good friend of mine. I went to Chief Sealth with him and remember all the jokes we used to tell and talked about how his Baseball season was going. I have known him for many many years and will miss his sense of humor and warm smile. He put his heart and soul into his work and his family. I spoke with him while he was in Afghanistan and his only thoughts were of seeing his family. He will truly be missed and I will never forget. R.I.P J-Love.

My heart aches for your family over the loss of your beloved Jarod. I will be forever grateful for his service to our Country. As a teacher, I remind my 2nd grade students every single day that men and women are defending our freedom. I tell them that many are sacrificing their lives in order for us to live free. Each time a service member passes and the flags are flown at half staff, I gather my students around the flag pole and remind them what it means. Thank you for sharing his life with the world. Jarod will always be remembered.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to PO Jarod Newlove our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Jarod. And to Jarod it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Jarod, you are a brave sailor, a Patriot Warrior and a true Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,353 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Jarod’s family and loved ones.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Jarod will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .
