A lot of us went to school with Bob from grade school through high school graduating from Port Townsend High School together in 1956. We will be having our 55th class reunion on June 12, 2011. Bob will be fondly remembered and missed by all of us. Love from all the classmates of 1956.

To Bob's family, am so sorry to hear that Bob passed. Bob and I were friends from grade school, through High School. Rose and Oscar were wonderful to me, in fact I lived with them the last half of my senior year in high school as my parents moved. Will always remember their generosity, the get togethers at the De Leo's and other family members. Oscar and Rose were my God Parents when I became a Catholic. To say that Bob was a character is an understatement. He left an imprint on our lives and will be forever remember. Best to all. I first heard of Robert E. when I worked at Black Ball Transport on the Iroquois in the late 1960's. He was a legend back then. I followed him to Alaska in 1977 and soon found out those stories were underrated. However, first and foremost, he loved his family. How likeable was he? Even his ex wives wanted to stayed in touch with him. Those of us fortunate to sail with him never had a better shipmate. I hope you are on the 12 to 6 watch Captain. You made those long dark stormy nights on the inside passage safe for the passengers and memorably light hearted for the crew. Your old shipmate Mark Sundt

I first met Robert E. Lee while he was living at Seaport Landing. I looked forward to seeing him everyday. He always made me smile. When I took him to church on the Seaport Landing bus he would always tell us about Port Townsend back in the day when h as a kid. Everyone on the bus always listened and asked questions. He was great and will be greatly miss.
Go with wind at your back Robert E. Lee...
You are always in my memories:
