Known fondly to many as Uncle Wally. A gentleman with a ready and rich baritone laugh that would delight anyone within hearing.
Always eager to have a discussion about almost any subject, especially politics, Wally coined the phrase, "to think is pink." This in reference to someone who would delve into a subject with thought and reason. Wally felt that people who were thoghtful were considered communist or socialist, not by him, but by a large segment of the unthinking public.
Another fond memory I have of Wally was the time he assumed the role of Santa Claus at the Snoqualmie Valley Railroad. The children loved him and I think many of the adults thought he was Santa!
A wonderful friend who will be missed by everyone he touched.

RIP, my friend.
