My whole family knew Bob from various places. My Dad, Bob Brown, had an auto repair shop in Edmonds, and my two younger brothers, Dan and Don were mechanics. They bought parts from Bob, and turned to him for advice. I, Darsy, actually worked with Bob at Spooners Auto Parts for a few years. I even celebrated my 21st birthday with him !!! Now, that was a party !
We will all miss him, and we too are glad to hear he pursued his passion in life and enjoyed his time in Yakima.
Barb - we wish you the best. Thank you for sharing him with our family !
Lots of love to you and yours !

I did not know Bob as well as many of the people who will post here. But it's that fact that compels me to write this.
Like many lucky people I was fortunate to have Bob build an engine for me. Bob didn't know me from Adam but in the process of building the motor I learned a lot about him. I would usually bring my young son to the shop to show him the process. Bob would greet us warmly like we were old friends and was always excited to show us what he was doing and explaining why he was doing things the way he did. He walked us through the different steps, showing us the machines and tools and how they worked. He may have been a genius when it came to building motors and porting heads, but his true calling was teaching I think. We learned so much and will be forever grateful for the time he spent with us. I am saddened beyond words to learn of his passing. Bob was a really good guy. I will miss stopping by the shop to say hello and share my latest car stories. This sucks...
To Gary and Bob's family, I'm very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
