Marilyn,

So sorry to hear about Bob's passing. You were such a great couple and the stories about your anticks always made me laugh. I remember when he would move the car while you were in the store and watched your reaction. Heaven will be a lot more fun with him there.

You are in my prayers,

Emilie

Bob hired me at Boeing in 1990, which provided my family huge benefits over the years, which I will always be grateful. He was a wonderful mentor, sage, guide, boss and mischievous fun loving intellect. We all enjoyed our architectural "Fly-Ins" to his office when all needed to connect. Bob, you did make a difference. Take care!

Bob had an enormous impact on my life, starting when I was 13. He was teaching a Bonsai class for young people over the summer, and I and another girl were the only students. He was so kind and patient with us, and understanding of the stifled yawns during the long history lessons.
After the class Bob let me work in the seedling beds all summer, watering and weeding in exchange for plant material.
I worked with him on and off for a few years, and took care of things when he went out of town.
I always felt welcomed on the property as if it was a second home, and Bob always had time for me. He ignited in me a deep interest in plants and growing, and taught me patience and understanding of other living things, at a time when I really needed it.
His impact on my life will never be forgotten, and I will always remember fondly the smell of his pipe drifting through the tall grass at his house as he approached with a gentle "Helloooo!"
