Willis Tallent Obituary
June 27, 1920 ~ April 15, 2017
Willis was born in Bellams, Virginia to William and Martha Tallent, the fifth of seven children. After writing to Mary Zeller for two and a half years, he met her for the first time when he returned from the Pacific. They were married 25 days later on May 11, 1944. They celebrated 72 years together. Willis retired from the Navy in 1961. He retired from his business, RU Recycling, at the age of 92. He was baptized as one of Jehovah Witnesses along with his wife Mary and daughter Linda on September 15, 1962. He served as an elder in the Pacific, WA congregation.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his grandson Aaron Fox, his five brothers, Steve, Robert, Seattle, Arch, and Adolph Tallent, and his sister Pearl Cunningham. He is survived by his son Bill Tallent (Lois), daughters Linda Fox and Monica Adamitz (Richard), grandchildren Victoria Walter (Rick), Joel Fox (Janet), Heather Alderson (Aaron), Monica Swanson (Greg), Nick Adamitz (Dione), Brian Adamitz, Crystal Cousineau (Bryan) and Will Tallent. Also eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held April 29, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 211 3rd Avenue , Pacific, WA. at 4:00 PM. Willis was 96 years old.

Willis and Mary Tallent were fine Christian grandparents to me. I spent weekends growing up in the back of their light blue station wagon facing backwards in service, usually sitting next to Monica or sometimes Heather and Crystal. Most of the time we would go to Bun's donut shop for our coffee break (a favorite for Willis). The Tallents were a rock of solid faith, always loyal and dependable in the congregation. Willis and Mary truly loved my sister Missy and spoke so kindly to her every time they saw her. Willis wrote a special poem for my sister Missy when she died. Willis and Mary Tallent were good friends to my parents and looking back, I know they did a lot more for my family than I could understand when I was young. Thank you to the Tallent and Fox families for everything. You were always there for us.
