Myron Fischer Obituary

Myron Jean Fischer, age 73, of Sedalia, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the home of Randy and Billie Fischer in Boonville, Missouri.

He was born June 1, 1938, in Stover, the son of Henry and Viola Fajen Fischer, who preceded him in death. He was baptized June 12, 1938, and confirmed April 6, 1952, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stover. The confirmation verse chosen was Matthew 6:33, " "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

On November 8, 1958, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stover, Myron was united in marriage to Mildred Bush, who survives at their home.

Myron and Mildred spent several years in the Kansas City area, where he worked for the railroad. After returning to Stover, he was employed by Emma Creamery. He and his son, Myron, worked and operated Fischer's Bulk Milk Service and farmed together until he retired in 1999.

He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stover.

Myron enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. One of his favorite places was Estes Park, Colorado, hiking on the trails. After retirement he enjoyed spending his winters in the warm southern part of Texas.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Billie Fischer of Boonville and Myron and Brenda Fischer of Stover; six grandchildren, Samantha and husband, William J. Cummins of Warrensburg; Megan and husband, Patrick Rowland of Stover; Gabriel and wife, Kristin Fischer of Columbia; Brittany Fischer and fiancé Kyle Snoddy of Columbia; Jordan Fischer and Bridgett Fischer of Boonville; three great grandchildren, Brett and Mia Rowland of Stover and Carson Cummins of Warrensburg; one sister, Karen Young of Stover, three nephews and three nieces, along with many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 18, at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stover with Pastor Cecil Murdock officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 18, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stover.

Private inurnment will take place at a later date in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Stover.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stover or the Alzheimer's Association -Mid-Missouri Chapter, 2400 Bluff Creek Drive, Columbia, MO 65201. Arrangements are under the direction of the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. www.scrivner-morrow
