I am sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Jay was a great friend from first grade until he left for Barstow. I think his house was the first overnight stay I had in the first or second grade. When he stayed with me on the farm in the fourth or fifth grade he went home with a big goose egg on his head. He tried to pop the end off a plastic jug with a baseball bat. My mom was worried sick. I'm sure our high school baseball and basketball team would have won more games if he had stayed because he was a very good athlete. Mike Hampy

Dear Carolyn, Yvonne, Stephanie, Jacqulyn, & Rachael,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Candy and I look back when our families were close and spent a lot of good times together. We did a lot of eating, laughing, playing games, and shutting the bull (the adults). Us kids just had a lot of fun together. I remember when Rachael got a doctors kit and we played doctor and nurse on Jay. That was fun!!
Rmember the good times with Jay and the Lord will get you through.

To Jay's love ones, he'll be missed but will always remain in our memories forever. Jay was there when ever anyone needed help with things especially helping to cook Holiday dinners, I couldn't of made it through all those dinners without you there by my side. Our family consider you as one of us even though we knew you had your own family and your thoughts were always of them. Jay, you fought an brave battle and was an inspiration to all around you. You'll surely be missed by all those lives you have touch through out the years, I know those who knew you feel the same. Your at peace now without pain, and as time goes by our pain will become lessen too. We will be with you again. As always all our love to you and all your family's which you had many. Jay was one of the first two people I meet when I arrived in Sedalia courtesy of the Air Force. It was a hot July afternoon in 1990. Tired of looking at houses in the heat, I told my wife Marlo to pull into the parking lot of THAT tavern to get a cold drink. The tavern was Steve's Korner Lounge. It was on that Saturday afternoon that I meet two people that would forever be embedded in my life and my memory... I can't recall how the conversation began, but I quickly was answering queries from a pair of quite witty, friendly and content 35ish(and slightly beer happy) year old men.
There names were Donnie Vinson and Jerome (Jay) Geischen. They are the first two people I met in Sedalia, Missouri. They turned out to be my best friends also and still are to this day. I was a new guy, plus military, and they were having alot of fun seeing how I was playing along with their banter. mehow I was getting the short end - Mind you I was having a good time. I can't remember the exact conversation, But I remember the reply. Jay said "It's your turn in the barrel." I didn't understand, being a yankee and all, and was quickly ridiculed, then educated with some more humiliation for being such a city boy.... Well to make a long story short, Jay turned out to be one of my best friends in Missouri and I don't know how I would have ever got along without him. I killed my first deer on his farm. I played HORSE in the barn on his farm with his boys. He taught me how to play shuffleboard like a champ. But I showed him darts. We drank kegs of beer and danced and sang to Dwight (1000 Miles, Pink Cadillac) Rooted for our teams and drivers. Drank coffee at 4 am in his kitchen. He liked to have fun, but he was the hardest working man I ever knew. A red-iron worker, concrete-man, Miller Beer route driver, carpenter and a very well- rounded educated man. Jay didn't brag, but he spent some time in college (in New York City) and was very educated. He could discuss building issues as quickly as he would economics or history. Jay was an educated man, not just a worker. He was always a thinker ... and I think that is where he captured his wit, humor, sense of self and camaraderie from. Jay was a Great Man.

Dear loved ones of Jay,
I was deeply saddened to hear about Jay passing away. As I am working a contract job in Florida, I won't be able to attend the visitation. However, my thoughts and prayers will be with you all and I especially want to thank you all for Jay's and your friendship during the years at Smithton School. Jay was a talented person and a good friend. I am sure he will be greatly missed. God comfort you in your sorrow and thank you again for your friendship.
Sincerely,
John McCutchen and family
