Howard Shouse Obituary

Howard Shouse, 70, of Bagdad, passed away on Friday, 9 November 2012, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born in Shelbyville, he was the son of the late Ellis Lee "Jack" and Christine Warford Shouse. He was a member of the Beechridge Baptist Church, and formerly served as a Trustee of the Beechridge Cemetery. A lifelong farmer, he is well remembered for showing his prized dairy cattle, and he assisted in the operation of the cheese production facility on his family-owned Hometown Farm. He was also an auctioneer, a former school bus driver for the Shelby County Public School System, and a former employee of the Kentucky Department of Parks and of the Printing Division of the Kentucky Finance Cabinet. Survivors include his wife, Lorene M. Shouse of Bagdad; his daughter, Tracy Curtsinger and her husband, Mark, also of Bagdad; his brother, Gary Shouse of Bloomfield; his sisters, Betty M. Young of Frankfort, Emogene Shelburne of Shelbyville, Bonnie Roberts of Shelbyville, Hilda Parrish of Bedford, Diane Parrish of Stoutsville, Missouri; and his two grandsons, Travis Curtsinger and Brandon Curtsinger both of Bagdad. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, 13 November 2012, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, with Reverend Chuck Umholtz officiating. Interment will follow in the Bagdad Cemetery, Bagdad, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M., until 9:00 P.M., Monday, at Hall-Taylor. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Beechridge Baptist Church, and online condolences may be expressed at www.halltaylorfuneralhomes.com.
