Norman Terry Obituary

Norman W. Terry Passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in Oakland, at 90 years of age. A native of San Francisco, and long-time resident of Oakland; most recently resided at Salem Lutheran Home. Survived by many loving friends throughout the Bay Area and around the country. Mr. Terry was an Army veteran of WWII. He worked in retail, including Roos Bros. Clothiers in Oakland, and as a beautician. Mr. Terry was a passionate supporter of the performing arts. He volunteered for decades at venues including the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco, and the Paramount Theater in Oakland. Mr. Terry enjoyed visiting Bay Area gardens and the orchid shows at the Lake Merritt Garden Center. He continued to develop and enjoy friendships with neighbors and acquaintances across generations. Norman Terry was a kind and generous man who appreciated the many blessings in his life - especially his family, friends, and the beauty of song, dance, and the natural world. Friends and acquaintances are cordially invited to attend memorial services Saturday, October 16 at 11:00 a.m. in Oakland. For details and to RSVP, please call (510) 205-4686.
