Beatrice Basanez Obituary

Beatrice Antonia Gold Basanez Born 89 years ago in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Beatrice was blessed with a passion for life. As a young adult, she moved to San Francisco, where she lived and loved. Beatrice, known to her family and friends as Bea, Grandma Fifi, and Auntie Toni, led an active life and loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. She was blessed with many good friends, and everyone, friends and family alike, marveled at her gusto, determination, and wit. Beatrice passed away peacefully on February 5, 2013. Always a dynamic and playful spirit, Beatrice was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

Beatrice leaves behind her daughter, Anna Marie Gustafson; granddaughters Charlotte Brown, Dana Hagan, and Carri O'Neill; 7 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was a beloved aunt to Cynthia Kinavey, Diana McMackin, Steven Gold, and Martha Mayorga. Her husbands, Basil Herrera, Joe Vernet, and the great love of her life, William Basanez; her parents, Sophia and Ignacio; and her brother, Fortunato, precede her in death.

A rosary service will be held at Valente Mariani Perata & Co. at 7:00pm on Friday, February 8. Mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 11:00am on Saturday, February 9. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life.

What a great lady you were, you had the best sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. You always spoke highly of your family that you loved soo much and you were very proud of them. Well, lady we're gonna miss you but now you can rest in peace and be the angel looking over all the family and friends that loved you so much. Here's hoping you'll see Bill again now that you've gone to heaven, somehow I don't doubt that you will and I'm sure no matter what you'll enjoy your place there with as much lust and spirit as you did here. Rest in Peace my dear friend and know that you may be gone but never will be forgotten. We'll miss you!!!
