Ronald King Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 30, 2026.
Ronald W. King age 76 passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Zaremba) King for 55 years. Devoted father of Stephen L. King of Plymouth & his wife Dawn & proud grandfather of Isabella, also son Matthew A. King of Palm Springs, CA.

Ron was the son of the late William L King and Phoebe (Upton) King of Bedford, Ma and his sisters, Deborah Lawson and Jayne King. Ron was born in Medford and grew up in Billerica graduating in 1966 & headed to college at Salem State. There he met Susan and they became a couple challenging the future. They married in 1970 after graduation and headed to Bowling Green College in Ohio to continue his studies and receive his Masters degree and then returned back to New England and settled in Plympton, Ma raising their family.

Ron began working in hotel management at many places including the Sheraton Hotels, Mill Falls, and Falmouth Inn. As a family man it became necessary to leave the hotel business which limited holidays off and late nights so he decided to use his teaching degree to provide his family more time together. He taught in Duxbury then settled into the Carver school system as a Social Studies teacher and eventually Department Head. One of his proudest accomplishments was bringing his students to Washington for Obama's inauguration in January 2009.

Throughout his life he enjoyed travelling with his wife to many many places in the U.S. and throughout Europe : France, Italy , Spain and a spectacular Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona Spain north to the French riviera and then down the coast of Italy visiting Rome and Pompeii, Sicily and over to Greece and Turkey. Another fabulous cruise was from New Orleans that took us to Columbia and then to the Panama Canal and ended up on the Mexican coast north to San Francisco CA. This was his ambition & passion - knowing the world - and he loved every aspect of it.

During retirement years he enjoyed golfing and living close to the Cape Cod Canal area & Scusset Beach . He was also creative in the kitchen and became a moderator on Simply Homemade in New England (SHINE) a group that shares recipes & posts their creations.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
