Ruth Dawicki Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium - Derry on Mar. 28, 2026.
Ruth A. Dawicki, 74, of Derry, NH passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Colonial Poplin Nursing and Rehab in Fremont NH, in the company of family who she loved dearly. She was born March 9, 1952 in Winchester, MA, daughter of Ernest and Ruth (Hoag) Watson, she graduated Reading High school in 1970 and Salem State College in 1974 with a BA in English.

She and Conrad Dawicki, the loves of one another's lives, married in 1975, and they moved to Derry the same year. She worked for Chomerics of Woburn, the IRS, and the U.S. Postal Service during the next four decades, also raising a family and keeping the world around her running like a Swiss watch. Pragmatic, practical, and quick-witted, Ruth could plan vacations, events, and good times for everyone who knew her. She lived for her children and grandchildren, and family meant the world to her. Getting the clan together for the annual Highland Games at Loon Mountain was one of the high points of any year. Spending two weeks in Scotland to track down her heritage was another. She was also a huge fan of Disney World and Maui, Hawaii, a constant traveler despite her increasing difficulty in reaching her destinations. She remained a trouper to the end.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Conrad- they'd just celebrated their 50th anniversary; their daughters, Janelle and Caitlin; grandchildren, Scarlet and Holden Soucy-Dawicki, Blair and Kendall Darnell; and her brother, Lance Watson. She was predeceased by her brother, Larry Watson.

Arrangements are still in the planning stages, but will most likely involve a graveside service and a memorial celebration of her life, sometime in June.

The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please donate to local charities that aid children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
