Henry Yip Obituary

Henry K. Yip

90 years old of Sacramento, CA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 19th. Born in Stockton, CA on July 3, 1922, Henry graduated from Lowell High School & UC Davis and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Evelyn Dong on Jan. 4, 1948 and was happily married for 53 years. Henry worked nearly 30 years at the U.S. Postal Service and became an active member of the Sacramento Chinese Senior Golf Club. Henry is survived by his four children: Janis Rodden (Jim), Nancy Jung (Ted), Loren, & Rodney Yip (Theresa); six grandchildren: Allison, Jessica (Andy), Ashley (Brandon), Marisa, Taylor & Justin; two great grandchildren: Evelyn & Jordyn; sister Florence Louie; and sister-in-laws Violet Yip & Helen Ong. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn, and brothers Chauncey, Leonard, & Frank. Per his wishes, private services were held and in his honor donations may be made to the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation at 9040 High Tech Court, Elk Grove, CA 95758 and the Asian Community Center at 7311 Greenhaven Dr., Suite 187, Sacramento, CA 95831.
