My dad was a loving husband, an involved parent and a loyal friend. He was always helping others, cared deeply about his community and conducted his business honestly. He was extremely proud of his Greek heritage/ancestry. An excellent cook who loved to entertain and thoroughly enjoyed having people around. From my earliest memory, friends and family were at our home and table eating, dancing and engaging in lengthy discussions on every topic. One of the lessons I learned from my dad was when things don't go as you planned or hoped: find another way, start over if you need to, but keep going. I will remember my dad as vibrant, enthusiastic, committed and persistent. The song that came to mind after dad left this world on Friday was Frank Sinatra's "I Did It My Way".

To the Verreos Family,
Our sincere sympathy for the loss of Nick! He was such an amazing man! I will never forget the impact he had on our family as my brothers' Scout Master! He was such a Good Man. A vivid memory for me was the surprise celebration of my 16th Birthday at a scout meeting! So special!
May your memories be forever blessed with love and happiness!
Love and prayers,

Nick came for the greatest generation that served our country, raised our children and set an example. A scoutmaster that took 50-100 children and made them into men. RIP. With love from the Finley family, the Finley boys and most of all.........Steve Finley

Nick was an extraordinary man. He was interested in a wide range of subjects, from history to religion to cooking to family. He was very generous. A conversation with Nick was always an adventure.
His love for his wife Adrienne expressed itself in his protectiveness, as well as his appreciation for her ability to hold her own against his emphatic personality.

In a world where values are often badly misplaced, where fame, fortune, and notoriety are sought after and too often viewed as ultimate achievements, the quieter life of service may pass relatively un-noticed. Yet it is service to others that is the truest measure of greatness. And by that measure our father did not fall short. His love for God, country, wife, family, friends was never in doubt. Now reunited with so many others who have walked the path ahead of us.
