Dear Buksa family,
Today I found an old photo album from St. Pancratius (I was in Tom's class) and I started to walk down a very pleasant memory lane. I got to thinking of John - he was several years older than I was, but when he came to my brother's parties he would always dance with me and make me feel special. I never forgot my love and admiration for him. When I decided to do a web search for him today, I was deeply saddened to see that he had passed away. He and his family, including his colorful and beloved parents, always made a wonderful impression on me. I cannot imagine the loss you now feel. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and be assured of my prayers for the happy repose of his soul. He was a wonderful boy, and I'm certain, a truly wonderful man. God bless him and your family

Dear Buksa Family, as a child growing up in Lakewood, and playing sports at the park, not only did I have the pleasure of meeting John and his family, I was able to learn from him. He was a wonderful man, coach and just all around person. As with most of us growing up, John became an important part of our lives. It has been an honor to know him. My heart felt sympathy to all of you. He will not only be "remembered", but truly is a legend. May God keep you all in his heart, as you keep the beautiful memories of John alive. God Bless.

Dear Linda, Jamie, and Johnnie:
My heart goes out to each of you. You have been and will continue to be in my prayers. I must say it is strange to drive down the street that I grew up on knowing that I will not see John chatting with the neighbors, doing yard work or hanging out in the garage as that is what comes to mind when I think of my Godfather, John. He always had a smile on his face and was so proud of his kids. I have so many fond childhood memories with the Buksa family. I remember John coaching Cristin and I when we were little tikes, playing softball, basketball and volley tennis at the parks in Lakewood. I remember the endless summer sleepovers with Jamie and our Sunday afternoon baking sessions. I remember going over to "Aunt Patti's" house to go swimming in the summer. I remember dancing with John at my wedding. The list could go on and on. But most of all I remember John's smile and his enthusiasm for life.
May God bless you and your family!!!
Love always,

My sympathy and condolences to John's family. It is apparent that John was loved by all. God has promised that soon 'no one will say, "I am sick."' What a glorious day for all. Then we will see John again in full health (John 5:28,29). God has promised it and it will come true for all of us. May God comfort your family.

To John's family I send my love and prayers. I probably first met John when he was a toddler of 3 or 4 years old. The one constant were his eyes and his smile, even way back then, that never changed through thick and thin John proceded forward.Linda you have been very brave and strong and I hope you and your children can only remember the very special man you shared your life with and look up to the blue skies and white fluffy clouds. He's there with his God. God Love You.

To John, Linda & Jamie...
I just received word of John's passing. I wish to express my deepest sympathies to your family. John started coaching at Bolivar the same time I started working for Lakewood. His passion for working with the children at the park, and his countless hours of service and dedication to the Lakewood community have positively touched many lives in ways we will never know. John was a good man and it was an honor to know him.

To John's wife Linda, his children and family. Please accept my deepest sympathy in this time of sorrow. I've known John since the first grade at St. Pancratius. I attended high school with him at Pius X. He was always a great guy and friend. Although we didn't stay in touch much in recent years, I always considered him a dear friend. I will always remember John riding his bike to school and his chain falling off and him sticking his hand down to fix it and getting his finger caught an cutting off the tip. He picked it up an brought it to school. One little memorable storey. May he rest in peace. I'll miss you my friend. Mike Kline
