LOIS HALBERT Obituary

HALBERT, LOIS ANNE January 15, 1961 to July 15, 2011 Lois Anne Halbert was born January 6, 1961 and passed away July 15, 2011 in the arms of her loving husband Michael. She was surrounded by her son Carson Hodges and daughter Chelsea Hodges. Stepsons Mike Halbert Jr. and Ricardo Diaz; nephew Dillon Isaac; brother Richard Grow and sister-in-law Sandra Grow were by her side as well. Lois loved a good soiree; a consummate planner and always interested in making her guest comfortable and able to have a good time. Having a huge party on Christmas Eve always make it so much easier to sit around on Christmas morning and bask in the revelry that occured just the night before. Thoughtful gifts, witty remarks, and tasteful decorations were embodiments of her character. Her husband, children, parents, brothers and other family will dearly miss her vivacious nature, bountiful spirit and gregarious yet solitary qualities. Consersations with Lois were articulate, always entertaining and sometimes instantly intimate. Lois loved to travel. Taking her parents to Hawaii for their 50th wedding anniversary was a delight for her. Also travelling with her husband and children to Europe and visiting such places as Rome, Venice, Florence, Capri, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Versailles, Monte Carlo was a dream come true. She longed to go back and experience other cultures with fantastic delicacies to bring home some art or other household item to remind herself and others of their adventures together. For Lois, family was everything; generosity was her signature. A gathering will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., to share memories at Lois' home at 3058 Ranch Diego Circle, El Cajon, CA 92019.

Your smile, your laughter...is only a memory now. Your voice, your personality...is only a memory now.

Sometimes people will mention your name. Some might just keep quiet.

But no matter what is or isn’t said, You will always be on someone’s mind.

It seems like only yesterday, you were by your friends and family’s side. Enjoying life and doing what you always did best...making sure everyone was happy and comfortable.

You were unselfish. You were kind. You were caring. You were giving.

You gave love and you were loved.

It’s been a few hours since you left.
For your friends and family, things will never be the same.

It doesn't make any sense. Who holds the blame? Can this really be real?

If love could have saved you, you’d still be here today. The love we hold for you, will never ever change.

As you lay in a still rest, it breaks my heart to know that they took the best.

Everything you did, everything you were, Is now only a memory. I still can't believe you're gone.

And even though I know you are in a better place and your pain is finally done, I am still having a hard time understanding.

I will miss you Lois. You were one of the good ones. I will miss you Lois. You were my friend. ? ? ?
