Norma BREST Obituary
Norma J. Brest
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Norma J. Brest, 82, of Springfield, died at 1:50 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Springfield, to John and Mable Hale Childers.
Survivors include four daughters: Peggy (Herb) Worker, Sandy Soenksen, and Donna (Donald) Smith, all of Springfield, and Cheryl (Jaime) Perez of Gurnee; three sons: Stephen (Valaira) Hoskins of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ronald Hoskins of Longmont, Colo., and Layne (Jill) DelValley of Monticello; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Dobson of New Berlin and Delores Schnepp of Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jules "Vick" DelValley; brother, Robert Childers; sister, Marge Hohimer; and one granddaughter, Kristan Smith.
Norma was a resident of Springfield most of her life and was a graduate of Springfield High School. Norma worked for St. John's Hospital in the Preemie/High Risk Nursery and also did private duty nursing.
She enjoyed playing BINGO and working puzzle books.
Visitation: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at Staab Funeral Home with her son, Stephen Hoskins, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Family,relatives & friends,
Norma was my aunt whom married my uncle Bill. I only had the pleasure to meet her a couple of times at the yearly reunion. I'm sure she'll be dearly missed by all but remembered often.
