Sandra (Nash) McConnell passed away on March 14, 2018 after a brave battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Sandy was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Steve, her mother and father Geraldine and Percy Nash, her husband John (Skip) Hanchera, her Sister Janet (Nash) Irwin and her son John Steve.
Sandy was born July 31, 1937 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She graduated from Sault High in 1955 and continued her education at Central Michigan University and Northern Michigan University where she received her degree in education. Sandra taught at McKinley Elementary School and retired from the school system in 1991.
She liked to read, to travel, bowl and golf, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and going to the cabin in Brimley.
Sandy is survived by her husband Peter McConnell, her son Patrick (Angela) Steve, her daughter in law Lynn Steve, her granddaughters Kasey (David) Williams, Taylor and Rachael Steve, her nephews Steve Gough, Joel Gough, Paul Gough, Glen Gough and niece Laurie Wilson.
Sandy's wishes were to have a gathering of friends and family at the Hovie Funeral Home in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.
