Joseph Clabough Obituary

Joseph Russell Clabough, 71, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of 52 years of Sheila A. (Slack) Clabough. Born in Knoxville, Tenn., he was raised and educated in Knoxville and Oak Ridge, Tenn. He attended Boston State College. Mr. Clabough was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a resident of Stoughton for over 17 years. He worked as an appliance repairman for many years for AAA Appliance and Joes Appliance Repair. Prior to that, he worked as a meat cutter for Gertmans in Boston. In his free time, he enjoyed playing bingo. Above all, he enjoyed entertaining, singing and especially singing Karaoke at several area locations. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Eileen T. Boutin of Pennsylvania, Joseph R. Clabough Jr. of Florida, Sheila A. LaFrance and Michael Clabough, both of Stoughton. He was the brother of Mark Clabough and Candace Bartoff of North Carolina. He is also survived by six grandchildren. Funeral prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton, Monday at 12 p.m. Visiting hours Sunday 3-6 p.m. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
