Philip DeVasto Obituary

Philip A. DeVasto Sr., of Quincy, passed away February 6, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Mary (McCarthy) DeVasto. Loving father of Genevieve DeVasto of Weymouth, Kathleen DeVasto-Piemonte, and Philip DeVasto Jr. and his fiance, Donna Foster all of Pembroke. Brother of Richard DeVasto of Florida, Delia DiMarzo of Westford, and the late Jean Snedeker, Patrick DeVasto, Gus DeVasto, Mary Dibbern, and Louise Sferruzza. Grandfather of Gia Naab and her husband David of Virginia, Jamie DeVasto and his wife, Jennifer, of Whitman, Anthony Piemonte, III, David DeVasto and his fiance, Alison Hartrey, of Quincy, Deanna DeVasto of Weymouth, Philip DeVasto, III of Oregon, Lauren Harrington and her husband, Parker, of Pembroke. Great-grandfather of Christina Piemonte, Matthew, Kelsi, and Briley Naab. Born in Boston, he worked for 37 years for Brinks until his retirement in 1985. Following his retirement, he was well known for selling Real Estate in Quincy. Philip always enjoyed helping others and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Josephs Church, Quincy at 10 a.m. Burial in St. Pauls Cemetery, Hingham. Our condolences for your great loss. In the 1980's we bought our house from Phil, then he sold it for us later. Now Phil is in the arms of Jesus; how wonderful that must be! May God bless your family.
