Cecil Covil Obituary

SPARTANBURG, SC-- Clarence Ceasar "Shorty" Covil, Jr., 76, of Spartanburg, passed away in Longview, TX. He was the husband of Bertha Burnett Covil.
Mr. Covil was a native of Spartanburg and a son of the late Clarence C. Covil, Sr. and Mamie Bishop Covil. He was a truck driver and a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law: Eugene and Linda Covil of Woodruff, Keith Covil, Mark (Jean) Covil, both of Spartanburg, and Jeff (Lynn) Covil of Boiling Springs; sisters: Joyce Lawter and Gloria Jean Wales, both of Florida; five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a great granddaughter: Heidi Grace Covil, a sister: Gayle Gosnell, and two brothers.
A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Keith Davis. The family will meet friends following the service at the gravesite.
Memorials may be made to the Cecil Covil Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 160427, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
The family will be at the home.
