James HAMMOND Obituary

James Hammond, a resident of Deer Park, WA, passed away on March 16th, 2023. Jim was born in Spokane, WA, to James and Georgia Hammond. Jim graduated from Mead High School in 1979 and attended Eastern Washington University. He found work at Red Iron Steel and spent the next 40 years working for various steel firms in Eastern Washington and Hawaii as a steel estimator. Jim met his life partner, Laura, in 1984 and married her 8 months later. They spent several years as foster parents in Spokane county. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Connie; and beloved great-niece, Taylynn. He is survived by his wife, Laura; daughter, Sarah; son, Isaiah; sister, Kathy Markley; sister, Laura Benway; and many nieces, nephews, and foster children. A celebration of his life will be held on April 8th, 1:00 PM, at Covenant United Methodist Church, 15515 N. Gleneden Dr., Spokane, WA, 99208. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to donate to a children's charity of your choice
