James Huff Obituary

HUFF, James "Jim" Allan (Age 75) Passed away at his Endicott home Sunday, February 14, 2010. A graveside service will be Thursday, February 18th at 10:00 am at the Endicott Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott. Jim was born August 21, 1934 in Edgemont, South Dakota to James Walter and Doris Coates Huff. The family moved to Bonners Ferry, ID. when Jim was six months old. He graduated from Bonners Ferry High School and went on to the University of Idaho for a year before finishing his college career at Idaho State University in Pocatello. Jim graduated as a pharmacist and went to work briefly in Lewiston, Idaho before finding an opening at the drug store in Endicott, Washington. Jim met Sharon Hose while at a dance in Winona and the couple married April 25, 1959. Shortly after they married, Jim and Sharon bought the Endicott Drug and owned and operated the business together for the next 40 years. Jim retired in 1997 and the pharmacy closed. He was an avid gardener and loved fishing. He also liked to play cards and golfed occasionally. In younger years he and Sharon both bowled on leagues in Colfax and were members of the Jaycee's. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, St. John Golf & Country Club, Endicott Gun Club, a board member for the St. John/Endicott Scholarship Foundation and a member of the Washington State Pharmacy Association. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon, at their Endicott home; three children, James Michael "Mike" and wife Kathy Huff of Durham, NC., Robert "Bob" and wife Julie Huff of Antioch, CA. and Sheryl and her husband Terry Kyllo of Anacortes, WA.; five grandchildren, two sisters, Evelyn Dinning of Bonners Ferry, ID., Margie Yongue of Blanchard, ID. and a brother, Harold Huff of Tekoa, WA. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a baby boy, Richard Allan. The family suggests memorials be made to the St. John/Endicott Schools Scholarship Foundation or to Trinity Lutheran Church.
