Kathy Birk Obituary

BIRK,
Kathy M.
(Age 50)

Kathy passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2011. She was born July 6, 1960 at Fairchild AFB to William and Eunice Birk. She is survived by her parents; a brother, Gary Birk (Terri); a sister, Terri Williams (Dale); and her twin sister, Karen Brown (Steve); nephews, Aerik, Jacob and Kyle Williams, Isaac Brown; nieces, Jessica Birk and Abigail Brown; and three great-nephews, Lyric and Brodie Williams, and Hunter Abraham. Kathy lived in Seattle for a number of years after completing high school and then returned to Spokane where she worked in numerous restaurants until her stroke in 2003 left her disabled and unable to work. Kathy loved animals and shared her apartment with her beloved cat, Alley. She will be remembered for her lovely smile and quick wit. Our family prayers are that she is once again able to run and dance with joy.

There will be a memorial service for Kathy on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St. with her brother-in-law, Rev. Stephen Brown, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N. Havana St.; Spokane, WA 99217 or to a charity of your choice.

To Karen and Family: I only now saw this news in the Facebood Ferris HS group and here at this site. I'm sorry for your loss; my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Though my breaks for you, I want you to know how blessed I am to have been friends with Kathy. Our crazy teen years were filled with wonderful memories: singing, dancing (do the hussle), trolling for boys while at Priest Lake (as Bill called it), talking, laughing, searching for the best Dorito in the bag. I am a better person for having shared those teen years with Kathy, and her family. Thank you, and know that I will always smile when I think of her. Love, Theresa

My sincere condolences to the family. It is so very hard to find words to convey my feelings at a time like this. I know Kathy is now living her life with God, each passing hour at peace and dancing to her hearts content. I will always remember her for her beautiful smile. Hugs and warm embrace to her wonderful parents. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am so saddened to hear this news. Kathy was part of the fabric of my life when we were young - we had so much fun together as young girls . . . Please accept my deepest sympathies during this difficult time.
