Chester Jahns Obituary

Chester A. Sr.
(Age 92)

Entered into rest on March 30, 2011. He is survived by his sons, Chester Jahns, Jr. and William (Cheryl) Jahns; by his daughter, Bonita (Dan) Morrow; his four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; as well as his sister, Angeline McNearny. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Anna Jahns, in 2009. Chet was born in Rockford, WA and graduated from Rockford High School in 1937. He began his farming soon afterwards. He was a member of the Masons and Intermountain Grass Growers. He was a Board member of the Rockford Grain Growers, and presided over the Mica Peak School District when the Mica Peak and Rockford School Districts merged. He was also a member of the Hokey Pokey Dance Club where he and Anna ballroom danced for 30 years. He received an award for maintaining the Mica Peak Cemetery for 16 years. He was a loving father and loving grandfather, and he will be missed greatly. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 8th, 2011 at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Chet to the Alzheimer's Association, 910 W. 5th Ave, Suite 256, Spokane, WA 99201.
