June Palmer Obituary

"Strength and dignity are her clothing" - Proverbs 31:25 PALMER, June Ann Maureen Theresa (Jacobs) (Dalgarn) Known lovingly throughout her life as "Janie", was called home by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 18, 2010. She was born March 4, 1923 in Yankton, South Dakota, but raised in Spokane. She met and married Billy Dalgarn when she was only 17 years old and became a Mom a year later. She bore eight children, saw them grow in adulthood, but had to endure the pain of having to bury her first two born sons, Billy Kay and Michael. She is survived by her daughter Robyn Bolton, Son-in-law Rick Bolton, son Jon Dalgarn, daughter-in-law Stacie Dalgarn, daughter Kim Ormsby, son-in-law Timm Ormsby, daughter Keeley Comard, son-in-law Richard Comard, son Joel Dalgarn son Scott Dalgarn and daughter-in-law Polly Dalgarn. Janie is also survived by 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She endured the loss of her left leg and spent her remaining years in a wheelchair, but refused to let life pass her by. You would find her either at her sewing machine making a christening gown for her youngest grand-daughter, or in the kitchen baking peanut butter cookies for her son-in-law, or singing along to a Jeanette MacDonald-Nelson Eddy movie. She embraced the triumphs and tragedies of life as only she could, and taught us all the joy of living, the meaning of compassion, the value of giving, and the unconditional love of family. We will forever remember her as Mom or Nana or Janie and will be forever thankful God blessed us with her. In our hearts we know she is not gone, just gone ahead. Memorial - A casual memorial will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 518 E. Indiana, Spokane, WA. from 11:30 am until 2:00 pm to remember this loving Mom, Aunt, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.

Mrs. Dalgarn, as she was known to me, was my friend Scott's Mom. We were neighbors and many of Mrs. Dalgarn's kids and my brother's and sisters were friends, as I'm the youngest of 10. Mrs. Dalgarn was so sweet and nice to all of us. She had so much energy and love for everyone! I just loved her! You will forever have in place in my heart and my family’s heart! God Bless You!!
