Paul was a longtime friend of our family. In fact, Paul worked at my dad's restaurant; the Noodle Grill (was located downtown on Main Ave.). My dad, On Leong and Paul were very good friends. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

Paul Eng was my dad's (David Eng) best friend when they worked at the same restaurant in Pullman, before Paul opened up his restaurant in Spokane. Decades later they reconnected by chance at a dim sum restaurant in Bellevue. The way my dad brightened up when he saw Paul and his family was amazing. Reminiscing about the past and reconnecting in the present was a true gift for my dad until he passed. May Paul rest in peace and reconnect again with my dad up in Heaven!

I first met Paul at the Gung Ho on 3rd Ave and supported him on Division St as well thru college and beyond. He had a special gift with people and I mourn his passing and celebrate his living along with all that knew him.I never really told him how much I admired him but I think he knew.He was truly a joy and made life better. My condolences to his family who he dearly loved and may he rest in peace.I will miss you Paul.

I met Paul at the Gung Ho on 3rd. Our family (Chicken Joe Johnson) sold him eggs for his restaurants. He always bought extra large grade A for his kitchens. He was a kind man to people and employees alike. He will be missed.

As a teenager growing up in Cheney I looked forward to going to the Gung Ho with my parents. It was our favorite Chinese restaurant partly because of the great food, the other part was because of Paul. He always seemed happy to see us and recognized us as regulars. Just last week, some 30 years later I had asked my parents what happened to the old Gung Ho and Paul and we shared a moment of found memories.
Our sympathy goes out to the family.
