Roy E and Lucia O Smith Memorial and burial services for both Lucia and Roy E. Smith Sr. will be held July 29th from 10 AM to 11 AM at Ferncliff Cemetery Chapel, located just inside the main entrance on West McCreight Avenue Springfield, Ohio. Roy 83 of Springfield Ohio passed away on DEC 26, 2008 in Tequesta FL and Lucia O Smith 80 of Tequesta, FL passed away on March 27, 2011 in Cleveland, Ohio. Married for 62 years they will be buried together as per their wishes. Roy, known as "Uncle Roy" to several generations of his extended family, was a WW ll Veteran with the 11th Armored Division Thunderbolts and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from the 4950th Test Wing, WPAFB, where he worked as a master tool & die model maker. He was previously employed at Thompson Grinder where he served as President of AFLCIO Local 682. He was also a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church; ODD Fellows lodge 146, and VFW post 1031. Lucia, retired from the May Company, Springfield, Ohio, where she worked as a sales person in the fabric department. She was also a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Springfield. They are survived by two sons Roy E Smith JR of Cleveland OH, and Richard L (Donna) Smith of Springfield OH; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, Roy is also survived by three siblings James (Alvona) Smith, Jerry Smith, and Anna Sanders.
