News Death Notice

EVELSIZOR, Frederick R. "Fred" 66, of Springfield passed away Friday April 18, 2014 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born February 27, 1948 in Springfield, the son of Richard and Nora Lee (Myers) Evelsizor. Fred honorably served his country in the United States Army and was retired from Navistar. He attended Fifth Lutheran Church and enjoyed vacationing in Michigan, fishing, and playing cards. Survivors include three daughters, Stormi Garrett (Nathan Allen) of Saint Paris, Erika (Eric) Owens of Bradford, OH, and Chelsea Evelsizor of Springfield; two step-daughters, Nikki Mader of Springfield and Tiffany (Shawn) Young of Mount Orab, OH; grandchildren, Hailee, Cody, Chase, Madisyn, Mason, Beau, Sierra, Ethan, Evan, Faith, and Leah; sister, Wendy Evelsizor of Springfield; nieces and nephews, Jodie, Andrew, Christopher, and Danielle; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Evelsizor on November 30, 2007; two grandsons; and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Monday in Fifth Lutheran Church, 1331 E. High St, Springfield, with Pastor Carol Gesalman officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Right to Life. Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
