Irving NADELHAFT Obituary

NADELHAFT, Irving

of Largo, left the physical world in the early morning of September 6, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Carol Nadelhaft; his four children, Marilyn, Edith, David, and Robert; and his five grandchildren, Rachel, Abigail, Tanner, Addison, and Crosby. Irv was born to Joe and Gussie Nadelhaft on Nov. 4, 1928 in New York City. After graduating from The Bronx High School of Science, Irv went on to extensive studies at the City College of New York, University of Maryland, Syracuse University, and the University of Pittsburgh. Irv was a dedicated scientist, including physics and research in the field of neuroscience. His work included many research projects with the Medical School at the University of Pittsburgh and Veteran's Administration of Pittsburgh and Bay Pines Florida. He did volunteer work with Family Services and Planned Parenthood in Pittsburgh, PA. Irving enjoyed fishing on Cape Cod, MA, skiing, astronomy, photography, and of course the New York Times crossword puzzle. According to his wishes, there will be no service. Donations may be made to the Suncoast Hospice Care Centers, in Pinellas Park.

I worked as a student in Dr Nadelhaft's lab in VA hospital. This was a long time ago, but I clearly remember his dedication, his strong ethics, his smile and his friendship with his colleagues. He was a kind and caring man.
