I still think of my friend Shaker every time I am in the Mansfield area. I played in hus badminton tournaments for over a decade and even spent a night with his family when my son Nick visited the college.

Dear Gynanashekar, 50yrs back we all departed from SSA, after having had a wonderful foundation for higher studies in different field of our choice. Our childhood memories from 1964-70 is always highly nostalgic to recollect. We had 4 reunions so far & the 5th reunion will be for our Golden Jubilee Celebration in 2021. On 02 Dec 2020, U will be remembered as a sweet soul from Pandya house. May god bless Ur family. May the gr8 professors soul RIP.

On behalf of the Northeast Badminton Association, I would like to express our deepest condolences to Shaker's family. Although I did not know him especially well personally, I regularly sent him notices regarding our events for which we need umpires and we always appreciated any times he was able to help us in this capacity. I do hope that those who lived closer to Mansfield who would have known him better are aware of their loss and have had a chance to communicate with you. I will try to pass this very sad news through our community.
From what I have seen on this site, Shaker was quite an active, athletic man involved in much more than badminton and very well respected in the academic community. The shock of his early passing must be difficult for all who were close to him. I am very sorry.

Shocked to hear of the sudden loss of a schoolmate. Although I haven't seen him after we graduated from our school in 1970, we maintained constant touch over the phone the last 6-8 years.
I will miss a dear friend! I pray for his family and convey my heartfelt sympathy.

I must have played him in racquetball at the fitness center hundreds of times and I can't remember ever winning. But he was a person you could lose to hundreds of times and still enjoy being with him.
