September 21, 2024 - It's been 14 years since you left us, Pratt. We still miss you but celebrate the many years you were with us! We loved you then and still! You now have Mom with you and I am sure you two have been deep in the cooking stories and laughing with each other. We miss and love her so much, too! Took new flowers to the cemetery and yes, Sunflowers! My love to you, forever! Pat

Here we are in 2023 ... 13 years since you left us on September 21st. We still miss you very much and continue to celebrate you and the joy and love you gave our Family. We visited the Cemetery again and took some fall flowers and had a remembrance toast in your honor! It was a beautiful day with a lovely sunset! You would be so happy and proud of your Grand Daughters Katie and Macie! Katie is living and working in New York. Macie is learning how to drive and will have her drivers permit soon. Beautiful young Ladies! Afterwards we went to ... yes .. Pete's Pizza, as we do every year. They are doing really well and it's always fun talking about old times and catching up. Really good Friends! Pam & Jenny miss you a lot, too. Mom is living with me now and she's always saying, "Pratt was a good man and just the best cook!" Of course, I totally agree. Loving you always, Pat

Miss you Pratt but even more so today on your Birthday, July 24, 2022. We did our Family gathering today in celebrating Jenny's (on the 21st) and Jennifer's (on the 26th) Birthdays. So many wonderful memories of prior celebrations. Texted with Tammy as her Birthday was yesterday! July is a good month for Family Birthdays! They were always better when you were with us, though! Hard to believe it's been 12 years since you left us. Love you forever. Pat

Pratt - September 21, 2020 and now 10 years since you left us. We still do our worldly thing of visiting the cemetery and putting out new flowers, talk about how things used to be and just enjoy an afternoon together. Tammy, Macie and I were able to get together this year and was really nice. Been a difficult year for us to be able to spend much time together so every time we can is very special. Thank you for loving me & our life together. We miss you and always will. Loving you forever. Pat

Pratt - Its so hard to believe its been 9 years since you left us to go to your heavenly home! Just seems like yesterday our family was together laughing & enjoying a great meal (which you cooked most of)!! Not a day goes by that we dont think of you & miss you greatly but we know you are smiling down on us & watching over all of us just like you did when you were here! On behalf of Pratt and our families, I just want to thank all of you who posted memories and blessings to us. It is comforting knowing that others feel the same as we do about Pratt. He was a good son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He so enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Nothing made him happier than teaching our children and grandchildren the things that he enjoyed. He would get that big smile on his face and you just knew he was so happy. Pratt was a very special man. He will always be missed and I will love him forever. Pat

Pratt,
Time has passed but the memories of you will always be alive and deep within the ones who love you. With you it was all about laughter, making folks feel at home and we all knew you as a kind and gentle soul. Should you see my one and only "Sherry", please give her a hug for me. I feel you both are with us all every day, reminding us to look out for each other and love each other as if there is no tomorrow.
Love and miss you. Bren

Hi Honey,
I have this picture of you on the refrigerator and see it all the time. I touch your face on it and it makes me smile. Miss you so much but especially today. It did get a bit better in the afternoon as Tammy, Mark, Katie, Macie, and Jenny came and we all went to the cemetery. Left some new flowers and we had a toast to you. Pam and Jenny left some flowers yesterday, too. We were there right at dusk today and the sun setting was nice. Then we had dinner at Pete's Pizza. I enjoyed talking with Pete and his wife. Of course we got to talking about hunting and the dogs--Patches and Pete. I talked with Travis several days ago. He sounded really good. He just turned 16 and is driving. Hard to believe. I also talked with Mike on Tuesday evening. We talked a little about his coming up to hunt but set no dates. Our kids are getting older and the grandkids are growing up. We all miss you and will always love you. Wish you were here with me but I believe you're watching over me. I will always love you.......Pat

I heard the song Lucky Man by Montgomery Gentry the other day and thought of Daddy. It tells of a man that feels lucky because he's been given a pretty fair hand. He is satisfied with a house and a piece of land and a few dollars in a coffee can. He's got some friends he can call anytime of day and his ol' truck is still running good. (you've got to hear the song)
There are very few left in this world who are as content and happy with the simple things as Daddy was. I'm trying to remember to be more like him in that way and to pass that lesson on to my girls. I loved him.
I miss him terribly.

Dear Pratt,
Today is two years of missing you. It is a beautiful day today and reminds me of you and your gardening. You were so good at it. We miss all of your good cooking but especially miss being able to just sit and talk with you. We will be thinking of you always. Love and miss you.

We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and days before that too. We think of you in silence, and we often speak your name. Now all we have is memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake with which we'll never part. God has you in his keeping, we have you in our heart. To remember you is easy, we do it everyday. Its the heartache of losing you that will never go away.

Pratt, I miss you very much and think of you everday. Wishing you were still here with us, but know you are now at peace. Although two years have now passed, you are still in my heart and I will always be thinking of you. I was very blessed with the times we spent together.

Dear Pratt,
Thinking of you today, would have been our 29th anniversary. Of course, today was also Father's Day. Pam and Walter, Jenny, Reid and Jennifer, Nancy and Bobby, and I went out for lunch. We also celebrated Pam's birthday which is coming up. You see ... our normal June...Sunday.... celebration...just you were missing.
You are in our hearts, though. We miss you and love you always. Pat

Bless you and thank you to all who signed this guest book for Pratt. Yesterday, September 21, 2011 was a year since his passing. I got to spend the day with our girls, Tammy, Jenny, and Pam and talked with our son, Mike last night for a long time. Nothing will ever be the same but we are being there for each other. Relatives and friends, too, have been so good to us and I can't thank you enough for all the support. Love, Pat

Pratt,
I have been thinking about you, Pat, Pam & Jenny even more today on this 21st day of September, "a depressing grey day." I am sure you know I loved you a bunch and certainly do miss talking to you. I used to believe that those who die come back to us in some form after visiting heaven for a while. However if that is the case - I have not seen Sherry yet and has been 3 years now. Still not giving up on that yet. I hope you get to do all of the things you loved to do on earth in Heaven without of course any pain. No pain is surely a blessing. My love to you and my beautiful daughter Sherry. Miss you both. Brenda

Dear Pratt,
Your birthday today, July 24th, has been very different than prior years. Not having you here with me will always be different. I submitted a picture of garden goodies you would normally be bringing in the house....tomatoes and squash. Additionally, I picked four sunflowers today that were stray ones in the back field. They must have come up from seeds you planted last year. What a nice surprise! I even took Jenny three on the 21st for her birthday (just as you had done on a prior birthday of hers). Yes, I also made cucumber pickles! I missed our not doing it together, though. Happy Birthday. I love you and miss you. Pat

Mike, Kandice, and Travis came and we celebrated Kandice's High School Graduation as well as her birthday! Mark, Tammy, Katie, and Macie came and we celebrated Katie's "All A" school report card! Walter, Pam, and Reid came and we celebrated Pam's Birthday! Of course, our Jenny came and helped with the food and picture taking! We had lots of food and all brought something! We even had our first creamed squash directly from Tammy's garden! Yes, we all miss you but we are going forward and every day I'm so thankful for all the time I had with you and for our wonderful family. I love and miss you.

As time goes by, I still have the pain in my heart of missing you. Makes me sad to not be able to just call you and say Hey, what are you doing? You would always be cooking up something good to eat. You were such an amazing man and father. I miss your smile, all our talks at the table, your great food, and all the good times. Not a day goes by that I dont think of you! Wishing you were here with us. Happy Father's Day to the one I was blessed to have. I will carry your memory with me always. Love you Pratt!!

Dear Pratt,
I am here at your house in Culpeper and it's not the same without you. I keep looking over at the stove, wanting to see you there. Pat is filling in - fixed me a good lunch and I'm going to be heading home soon. Chester and I have been talking about how the whole family and the friends will miss your garden this year. You will always be in our hearts and you know we all love you but we have to be thankful you are no longer in any pain. I feel like you are watching over us and taking care of us. Thank you for being our friend.
