John B. Venturi WWII veteran and retired machinist, of Toms River, 94 John B. Venturi of Toms River, N.J., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at home, surrounded by family. He was 94 years old. The visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church followed by the entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, both in East Hanover, N.J. Born and raised in Newark, N.J., John moved to Toms River following his retirement after more than 40 years as a machinist for the Ward Baking Co. in East Orange, N.J. It was during his employment that he also served in the Army during World War II. John was predeceased by his parents, Gerardina (nee Nisivoccia) and William Venturi, and a brother, Peter Venturi. He is survived by his beloved wife, Angelina (nee DiTrolio); loving daughters, Judy and her husband, Rocco Baldi, and Angela and her husband, Dr. Vincent Castellano; dear sister, Josephine Venturi, and brother, Raymond Venturi; cherished grandchildren, Vincent Baldi; John Baldi and his wife, Kelly; Vincent Castellano and his wife, Caitlyn, and Christie Castellano, and great-grandchildren, Jack and Lily Baldi. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
