I first met Tom 3 years ago when we moved to Wilmington. We were next door neighbors and he taught me to saltwater fish. Most of all, he was a great friend. Every night we'd stand outside and talk about, fishing, politics, our life stories, children and dogs past and present. I miss him and I am thankful that God put my family and his together.

Growing up together in Salisbury was always better when we were at Tom's. From the many war games between Tony McDowel's tree house and Tom's, to the parties in Tom's basement with Rudy chaperoning Tom was always a great friend. My prayers are with the family

I remember going to an early birthday party at Toms, and we were all allowed to ride his pony. Since we grew up watching all the great cowboy movies, it was a real treat. I wish I'd known he was in the Wilmington area later on, as I spent many years in the area myself.

Tom was one of my best friends growing up in Salisbury. Lots of great memories of him going to Wrightsville Beach with my family and me to Blowing Rock with the Borlands. Prayers for the family.
