DORIS WILLETS Doris Brown Willets, age 94, of Wilmington, formerly of Pine Level, passed away on June 22, 2017. Born in Johnston County on October 18, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Clarence and Lola May Creech Brown. Her husband was the late George Marshall Willets, Jr. Mrs. Willets was a longtime member of Pine Level Missionary Baptist Church before moving to Wilmington and transferring membership to Winter Park Baptist Church. She was an office clerk at the Johnston County ASCS office for many years. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 29 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will receive friends at the funeral home just prior to the service, from 10-11 AM. Surviving are her son, George M. Willets, III and wife Susan of Wilmington; daughter Marsha Ann Willets of Lancaster, PA; grandchildren G. Marshall Willets IV and Laura Willets Walton; and four great grandchildren, Nicholas and Charlie Willets, Caroline and Anna Kate Walton.
