Linda and family -
I was quite saddened to hear of your loss. I grew up with the Hoepner family two houses away. We connected again thru our daughters and swimming/diving - JFK vs Jefferson. Throughout the years, our paths would cross. Mostly at sad times like this. Thought there would be more time. (famous last words huh?)
There are not words to explain what survivors needs - But please know that my heartfelt sentiments go out to you all for the loss of a good man - one who truly cared. I loved hearing the grandkid stories.
I was out of town when this happened and just found out this past weekend. Sorry I missed being able to see all of you and tell you in person.
Know that time is not your enemy, it will be your friend. It truly does heal the heart.

Take strength in the support of friends and family and your Assumption community. I will always remember Steve and our time in Italy together, especially when we went off together to find pizza in Rome! God Bless.

My condolences to you and your family. I spent two years working with Steve at Thexton, and he definitely added to the enjoyment at work. He was a very loyal individual and I will miss him.

Linda and Family,
I had the distinct pleasure of working with Steve for a couple of years at Toolworx and I will always consider him a friend. We shared many laughs along the way and I am so sorry for your loss. He was indeed, 'one of a kind'. I will miss him as well.

In 1960 my family moved into a house across the street from Steve on Clinton Ave. We moved away in 1963 but Steve and I have remained good friends ever since. I went on a motorcycle trip with Steve and some other guys a few years ago and remember staying up until 5:00 AM talking about God. Steve was a seeker and I look forward to seeing him again someday in heaven. Jesus said "Seek and you shall find". If I were on my deathbed I would say to my family and friends; be there! and I know Steve would say the same. Until then I will miss him.
