A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 12, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church, Mankato with Rev. Dawn Carder officiating. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Betty" Miller on March 27, 1948 at Peoples Highland Park Church, St. Paul. Bill was employed by Boise Cascade and Top Lines Representative and has been in Mankato since 1962. Bill was a member of Kiwanis and a past elder at the First Presbyterian Church. He will be remembered for his humor, his "heart of gold", and being a hard worker. As a devoted husband, Bill always said he "wanted to die first" because he couldn't live without Betty, who fondly remembers Bill's charm and handsome looks, especially his high cheek bones. Bill's loves were family, playing tennis, golfing with friends, political discussions and outdoor activities. You will be missed dearly, Grandpa. You were an inspiration and great teacher on how to live life. I am glad that you are at peace now, no longer having to fight alzheimers. You will forever be in my heart as I continue this journey through life. I love you, Grandpa!
