Janice Lowe Hauser, age 79, of Mount Airy, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Janice embodied the love of God through her compassionate actions, warm spirit and avid prayer life. Her acts of generosity to her community were made evident when she served in the Mount Airy Rescue Squad and as a supporter of the Pine Ridge Volunteer Fire Department. Known for her affinity for children and babies, she embraced everyone with heartfelt hugs, effortlessly sharing her kindness. Her ability to see the good in people made her a beloved figure with her church family and anyone who met her. A pianist in her younger years, Janice found joy in music, and would often be heard singing or seen clapping her hands to the beat of songs without realizing she was doing it. Throughout the years many friends and family enjoyed her homemade fried apple pies. She enjoyed working in her yard and cultivating a container garden that reflected her nurturing nature. Janice was born on December 1, 1946, in Surry County to Ander and Martha Billings Lowe. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her brother Ted Lowe. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Bobby Hauser of the home; daughter Kim Allen and husband Todd Allen of Mount Airy; Sons Newell Hauser and wife Beth Altemueller of Elkin, Daniel Hauser and wife Missy Kirk of Mount Airy; a brother, Jerry Lowe and wife Peggy, of Mount Airy; a sister Ruth Chamberlain of Mount Airy; two grandsons Luke Hauser and wife Emma Johnson of Mount Airy, and Nate Keibler of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; and two special life long friends Hilda Wright of Mount Airy and Cindy Moser of Monroe, NC. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Freedom and Liberty Church, 171 Key Street, Pilot Mountain, NC. Pastor Eddie Sawyers will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service.
