Dawn M. Allen Hauser, 63, of South Williamsport passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025 at the Gatehouse. Dawn was born on September 30, 1962, to the late Henry W. Hauser, Jr. and B. Colleen (Poet) Hauser in
Williamsport, PA.
Dawn was a 1980 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. During her high school years, she was a proud member of the band and chorus. She attended Lycoming College and the Divine Providence School of Medical Technology, graduating in 1984 with a B.A. in Biology/Medical Laboratory Science, with a minor in Religion. Also in 1984, she passed the American Society for Clinical Pathology Exam. Dawn was a member of the BBB National Biological Honor Society, serving as vice president for one year. In 1996, she received her graduate degree in Instructional Technology.
For over sixteen years, Dawn devoted herself to her career as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, where her commitment to precision and care touched many lives. She further honed her skills as a Histology Technician for five years and as a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomy Supervisor for one and a half years. She then worked in the field of instructional technology and training for 10 years. Dawn's professional journey was marked by her unwavering dedication to helping others and her pursuit of excellence in all she did.
On October 10, 2015, Dawn married the love of her life, Valerie D. Allen. They celebrated nine wonderful years in marriage with a total of 15 years together until Valerie's unexpected passing on October 18, 2024.
Dawn was an ardent lover of music and percussion. She cherished the simple joys of life, such as spending time with family and friends, sharing laughter around a campfire, and creating lasting memories. Her Shih-Tzus, Piper and Willow Mae, were beloved companions who brought her endless joy and comfort.
Beginning in 2017, Dawn battled with two types of cancer with fierce bravery and tenacity. She refused to let her medical issues inhibit her fun and adventurous spirit. She continued to entertain and amuse family and friends with her warped sense of humor and crazy antics. She remained her strongest, independent yet stubborn self. Dawn was the most loving, forgiving, selfless and humble sister, aunt, friend and dog mom. She will be missed beyond measure.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, her loving wife Valerie, nephew Thad S. Breon, great nephew Kasey J. Kemmerer, and several cherished pets including Lady, Sushi, Keesha, Bailey, Sadie Mae, and Dee Dee. She is now reunited with them, embraced by their love and presence.
Dawn is survived by her brother, Stan (Kay) Breon; her sister, Ginger (Jim) Maffett; nieces and nephews, Regina (Ed) Bouse, Stephanie (Greg) Kisko, Tracy (Kevin) Kemmerer, Jimmy Maffett, Angie Breon, Tiffany Welshans and Wade Breon; 16 great nieces and nephews and five great-great nieces and nephews. Dawn also leaves behind Valerie's family and friends who became her family and friends, as they loved and cherished her as their own.
A Memorial Service celebrating Dawn's life will be held at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 229 S Broad Street, Jersey Shore, on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by the Memorial Service at 12 PM, officiated by Rev. Dr. Kerry Aucker.
